THE ANTS GO MARCHING IN

The warm season is upon us and so are the ants! Imagine you’ve baked your favorite cake, set it on the kitchen counter to cool off and walked away for a minute. When you return … ANTS everywhere!

Here’s a little info about ants and their habits, to help you get a handle on this problem:

  • WHO: The most common species of ant seen indoors is the Odorous House Ant. These ants are usually small and black (although the color may vary).

  • WHAT: Ants usually feed on sweets, greases, and meats.

  • WHEN: Ants usually invade your home from spring through the late fall season and sometimes can be active during the winter if they have proper shelter.

  • WHERE: Ants trail into your home through cracks and crevices using outdoor utility lines, bushes, trees and decks that touch your home. They can occasionally be found nesting underneath insulation in crawlspaces under your home.

  • WHY: They primarily enter the home in search of food and moisture that is easily accessible.
